So today marks 5 years that I've been at The Food Bank... pretty proud of it, especially looking back on how it was when I started and knowing that I had quite a bit to do with how it's grown... and trying to forgive myself for the things I couldn't accomplish because the 2 jobs were just too much... hard to do, knowing that 5 years have passed and opportunities with it.

Also proud that I was asked to be a presenter at the Feeding America conference in Chicago in October, for BackPack program newbies... 2 other people and I will be presenting, and possibly on a Q&A panel, don't have many details yet. Must be doing something right. :-)

Have a knee-doctor appt next Monday, "surgery or not?" or find out what my options are. Haven't been as vigilant doing the physical therapy exercises as I should, some busy-ness, some "hurts!" and some "surgeon doesn't think it's a good idea" included in the decisions not to do it. I always feel better eventually, but not sure...

We're also seriously pursuing selling the house. We're down to having to have the living room window repaired and lots and lots of paint, but somehow it's just ......... frigging scary. Who's going to buy this little house? It's a great starter house, but the neighborhood ... I don't know, when I bought it it was on the market for only 4 days, and we've repaired/replaced a lot... don't know if we'll make any money, I'll be happy to just break even and be able to stay with friend/wedding host Kirk a) while we sell and b) for a while afterward while we look for the "really-right-we-can-retire-in-this-house" for us and save $$ for a downpayment if we really do only break even. Distinct possibility.

Exciting and scary and overwhelming. Certainly couldn't do any of this without my wonderful husband. =)
