He's Leaving Home
My little brother is leaving. Tonight I'm taking him a pizza and helping him and his girlfriend finish packing the truck that will take all their worldly possessions to New York. He'll probably leave in the morning, and I won't see him again until Christmas.
He's only been here a year. Before that he was in Waco, TX getting his law degree. I knew the odds of him staying here were low - though with the job market the way it is, it might have worked out that way had he not fallen head-over-heels for his fellow law clerk Ashley, who always knew she'd be heading back to NYC after her year clerking was over. (She's actually a NM native, but went to school in NYC and has a job waiting for her there.)
I'm excited for him. It's a whole new chapter, and he loves the law and hard work and Ashley, and I can't argue that this is the wrong move. ButI am going to miss him so much.
