They learn!
I'm doing another freelance editing job with a company I've worked with several times. The projects always involve huge unwieldy databases that make editing a pain in the butt.
This time, they have gone out of their way to make pretty editing pages. Unless I need to change something, I can skim right through the lovely text and ignore the ugly database entirely. They even thought to have a simple system to mark what has and has not been edited.
I made lots and lots of appreciative noises to my tour guide through the system. I really am looking forward to using it, and delighted that they went through the effort of making the job easier for me. (Of course, since I'm paid by the hour, that probably saves them money in the long run, but I'm content to think of it as a personal favor.)
It looked like a pretty quick job anyway - now I'm thinking it will be a breeze!
