Definition: Dating flocculation

The process by which two crazy people* get together and start a relationship, thereby causing them to sink to the bottom of the dating pool, where they are easily filtered out. This is akin to the same process in water treatment or swimming pool management. Sometimes water is contaminated by dirt or other pollutants which are too fine to settle out or be filtered out. Adding a flocculant causes these particles to clump together, after which they sink to the bottom and are easily removed. This is one of the big disadvantages of the poly community: It takes a LOT more flocculant to remove a crazy person from the pool. The consequences of that are left as an exercise for the reader.
