Update and random links
Dinner (Lebanese Taverna, a tad ironic given recent events) and Labyrinth last night were a lot of fun! I think everyone else had a good time too. It was a good evening and it left me feeling more relaxed about certain things than I've been in a while.
I finally heard back from the recruiters, it looks like I start job #2 a week from Monday. There are some plusses and minuses but overall it should be a fine contract.
I thought this weekend would be relaxed but in the last 24 hours options and complications have popped up. Maybe movies, mini-golf, voltbang's party, going to the club for kellfire's and tndrheart's birthdays, or maybe none of the above. Ping me if you have enticements for any of the above, other suggestions or if you just wonder what I finally decided.
I didn't see much mention of this: Washington State Supreme Court upholds ban on gay marriage. Oh well. :(
Animals in Lebanon are suffering too: Best Friends (an animal charity I give to) is asking for donations to support an animal rescue group in Lebanon.
I've long felt clueless about the Middle East situation, but this post talked about the Israel/Hamas/Hezbollah situation in a way I could understand. (It seems very plausible and the commenters seem to agree, but since I am clueless I can't say how accurate it is. Catch-22.)
[Edit: Particularly this comment about the agreement between Lebanon and Hezbollah, which was apparently one of the terms needed to end their civil war. I'd had no idea the Lebanese government had given Hezbollah that level of official recognition and leeway. Some things make a lot more sense now.]
