Dear Shigeru Miyamoto,
I am a great fan of your work, and a shameless Wii fanboy. I would like to propose to you an idea that could make further bazillions of dollars for Nintendo, and solve a very pressing need.
As I'm sure you're aware, the Nintendo Wii is a fantastic system, but it lacks a decent games library. This is due, in part, to how new it is, and also the unique 'wiimote', which diverts radically from traditional controller methods. This is both an impediment, and the system's greatest asset; it means game designers are not yet sure how to use it effectively. And holding it horizontally like a traditional controller quite frankly sucks.
I wish to beg Nintendo to produce another game that would benefit enormously from the Wii remote: Ghostbusters. Today's technology is more than adequate to create a Ghostbuster game that could in fact be one of the greatest video games of all time!
Incorporate the sandbox-style play of Grand Theft Auto, with the ability to roam the city freely, completing missions. Control the action via the over-the-shoulder camera angle of Resident Evil 4 (another excellent Wii game), allowing the player to aim as though the remote was his proton wand. Allow multiplayer campaign mode, to bring out the team aspect. These are all very doable suggestions, and would combine to create a masterpiece of gaming.
On top of all this, give the world a somewhat cartoony feel, with bulging architecture, as in Fable 2. Use voice actors, and emphasize the humour of the movies. Don't skimp on anything, and this game will open up a new river of money for Nintendo.
Best wishes, and thankyou for reading my blog,
Jesse
