Brilliant
This whole doing things thing is working out really well. I cleared out a cupboard this morning, finding a selection of odd shoes and a lot of lonely looking Christmas crackers. Answers on a postcard as to why I decided to keep these things. I have also (finally) persuaded the ex to come over and pick up his crap, which is excellent. I hope I have found it all. And I did an excellent job of painting my hallway. This whole DIY thing is actually surprisingly enjoyable. I just hope it works and someone wants to buy this place.
Even better, I finally have hot water again (don't worry, my shower's electric, so I had been able to wash at least). I feel like people in the slum clearances of the 50s must have felt like on moving into their new houses and finding running water indoors. It's amazing. I did however think a fat man was going to fall down my stairs and crush me, and I am slightly scared by the men currently cutting holes in the wall, but hopefully it'll all be ok.
