.character information
.full name: Starscream
.universe: G1
.affiliation: Decepticon

.alt mode:
Boeing F-15 Eagle

.abilities:
Agility and aerial prowess are Starscream’s primary physical abilities; he was not promoted to Air Commander simply because of his good looks. The sky is where he is at his most capable though he is quick on his feet grounded as well. In addition, he is generally more intelligent than the average Decepticon grunt. His cunning is very useful when it’s not being utilized to cause dissent in the ranks. He possesses an affinity for engineering and invention as well, though most of his devices fail to live up to expectation. A schemer at spark, he is capable of imagining convoluted and complex plans but either his reluctance to act on his usually poor odds or his recklessness cause the plots to fizzle or explode in his face.

.weapons:
Starscream is equipped with mounted guns on his arms that are capable of launching two separate types of weaponry. The first is an array of cluster bombs, each of which has the ability to level a considerable area with destructive force. His second and signature weapon is a doubly-mounted null ray which is capable of disrupting the flow of electricity for set periods of time. This can render another Cybertronian compromised at the very least, and completely inoperable when used at its maximum setting. His speed is also considered a significant asset, both in bipedal and vehicle mode.

.personality:
Starscream can be somewhat described as ‘a train wreck of personality defects’, though anyone foolish enough to say so to his face probably wouldn’t live to say it twice unless his name is Megatron. He possesses a keen intelligence and endless ambition, but his lack of subtlety and patience causes many of his grandiose schemes to flop. He has an inflated sense of self-importance and believes that he would be a far superior Decepticon commander; he is hardly quiet with his criticisms of Megatron’s antiquated military strategies. His temper is generally very short and he is never unwilling to spare a few unkind words towards anyone. He hesitates and is reluctant to act on his ambitions when he deems the odds as unfavorable, fearing the repercussions and cowering from consequences. However, he can also act recklessly when he is surer of his success.

.roleplay sample:
Punching the screen had been a really good idea at the moment.

Starscream had been sitting at his monitor on the command deck, having been assigned guard duty for the evening while Megatron did Primus knew what elsewhere and Soundwave was doing whatever he did on his off-duty hours. He honestly didn’t believe Soundwave ever was completely off-duty. The blindly loyal slagger probably enjoyed snooping out thought crime and did it for fun.

He frowned, thinking of his most recent scheme which wasn’t going as well as he would have liked. It had been at least a vorn since he had been able to access a lab and it was possible that Megatron was becoming suspicious of his planning. Paranoia tended to shut his projects down quickly; he could be patient when need be. It was no use dying over a plan that was likely to fail anyway.

This blatant abuse of power was just another grievance he held with Megatron as a commander; surely no one who would be willing to compromise the technological advancement of his faction should be allowed such a seat of power. The injustice of it made his circuits surge. No one had the right to tell him to sit still at some slagging monitor--!

And that was when he found his fist smashing into the screen of his console. It really had been a good idea right at that moment; very cathartic. He quickly felt his sudden anger dissipate as he removed his hands from the glass and wires, clenching it a few times. Then it dawned on him belatedly that he had just punched in and damaged a piece of the Nemesis’ equipment, something that Megatron did not deal with lightly.

Slag.

His first thought was that he had to remove himself from the position - he couldn’t be blamed for it if he supposedly wasn’t there when it happened. He got up and pointedly headed for the back door of the command deck, opening the door and standing just outside it so he could still see inside. It was perfect timing as just as he left he heard voices approach from the side entrance and the tell-tale hiss of the door on the other end opening.

He re-entered the room, looking towards the damaged console as if he was seeing it for the first time. A quick flash of purple paint in the corner of his optic and a familiar frame gave him the scapegoat he needed. “Skywarp, what did you do to my monitor?” he screeched, just loud enough for the now-entering Megatron to hear. He shot his fellow Seeker an accusing glare and was rewarded with a baffled look from Skywarp, an understandably indignant scowl jumping to his features.

The Decepticon commander looked from the now up-in-arms Seekers to the damaged console. “What is the meaning of this?” he questioned, the promise of a threat lingering in his words if he didn’t get an explanation and quickly.

“The evidence here leads me to believe that Skywarp has damaged the monitor, Lord Megatron,” Starscream was hasty to answer first, quick to cover himself. “I stepped away only for a klik-”

“And why did you think it was appropriate to leave your position at all to begin with, Starscream?” Megatron interrupted him, pointing a condemning digit towards his second-in-command.

Any defense he had died in his vocalizer; he really wished he could punch the now-smirking Skywarp. Slag it all, he really had to think his excuses out more completely before opening his big mouth.
