  • Fri, 12:02: Wilderness Lodge tree https://t.co/8c29aMJNwx
  • Fri, 16:26: Catchup, been chatting with Mark. Took the boat back to MK then bus to French Quarter. Got my car and I took Mark to Kidani to grab his refrigerated meds that Disney won’t move. They handled his luggage for the move to All Star Music
  • Fri, 16:28: Then to Music to get his new MagicBand and get it registered, but his bags were over at Movies so we just headed in to Boardwalk to get registered for the Disney Dish event
  • Fri, 16:29: Mark has done lots of these events so we were greeted warmly. Grabbed our welcome packets and took those back to my car, then went to look for gingerbread houses. Alas BoardWalk’s isn’t up yet. So, boat to Beach Club
  • Fri, 16:30: Beach Club always has a carousel, this year it’s Little Mermaid themed and great https://t.co/Ud4b2V2zKt
  • Fri, 16:33: Bought my gingerbread pin for a keepsake. Now will head back to BoardWalk and see if Jim Hill (headliner for the event, so to speak) is around yet https://t.co/7BQ90OsBRx
  • Fri, 16:46: Now back to BoardWalk to the Disney Dish event registration area to see if Jim Hill (the event is basically “spend time with Jim Hill”)!is around yet. There’s a meet-up in Abracadabar at 6, maybe people will head into Epcot for the new show Harmonious at 9:45
  • Fri, 16:50: Mark and I are spending large amounts of time comparing our two employers’ approaches to agile software development. When not talking Disney. 🤣
  • Fri, 17:58: Got back to the registration area and started chatting with a member of the Touring Plans team ( I’ll be at a disadvantage all weekend as I have rarely listened to these folks podcasts). Migrated with the group to Abracadabar
  • Fri, 18:00: Group has ended up on the BoardWalk itself in the Abracadabar serving area. Jim Hill has arrived and is off telling stories of Disney development, which is why one comes to these events. Current tale is the development process that ended up w the BoardWalk
  • Fri, 18:00: https://t.co/HHhFhf7xyQ
  • Fri, 20:42: Most of group migrated into Epcot to stake out a spot to see Harmonious. For this show that means dead center in the front, or maybe 180 degrees around the lake at Japan/America. We are at Japan so somewhat off center
  • Fri, 20:46: Got here at 7-ish for a 9:45 show. It’s Disney, you do this sort of thing. But with a larger group people can make side expeditions. I joined the Germany for a caramel filled gingerbread cookie sandwich.
  • Fri, 20:48: Cookie actually is mostly frosting filled , probably a smear of caramel in there. Nicer gingerbread than that sold at the gingerbread displays but overall way too sweet.
  • Sat, 08:38: Harmonious: well, it wasn’t horrible. We could see some of that the central “stargate” showed, bit they looked much less saturated than the side screens. Will have to get a straight on perspective to see what the stargate really looks like
  • Sat, 08:40: Harmonious: the music is a Disney song collage. Not much in terms of transitions, and not much attempt to present as a themed coherent show. Mark says the MK new show is much the same. I’ll see that tomorrow I think
  • Sat, 08:42: End of the evening: we walked back to my car at BoardWalk and I ran Mark to All Star Music. A it of trouble finding the building but a second pass showed us the turn to the right place. Back to my room around 11
  • Sat, 08:44: Up this morning with a plan of getting to Disney Springs by 8:30 to get ready for a Pokemon Go event that starts at 9, play until the next Jim Hill event starts at 11. But Disney Springs parking is all closed-maybe opens at 9 before 10 opening
  • Sat, 08:47: I’m parked at a nearby hotel and will soon go make another pass in the hopes one of the parking areas will open early. I’m not going to get much out of this event, alas. Conflicting scheduling for my fun time activities of PKG and Disney, will happen next weekend too
  • Sat, 08:55: Orange Garage is open at 8:50 but security is not yet operating, so I get to wait in the line of early Springs arrivers
