Elizabeth got me up at 8, but Fairlith and Jordan, her boyfriend from New York, were coming by at 9:30, so I didn't bother trying to coax the baby back to sleep. As a result she was crotchety all day. But, she did say her first word, which was exciting, and I called my parents about it.
F&J showed up, and I used my superpowers to dress Jordan. He looked awesome. Then we loaded Elizabeth and her mountain of baby crap into the car and drove out to the Archery event, just cuz it was the only event around this weekend, and Fairlith wanted Jordan to experience the SCA.
Well, it was a teensy event, entirely devoted to archery, which is perfectly valid and all well and good, except that there wasn't much for us to do except watch the archers and sit and chat with baroness. Which we did, and actually had a very pleasant morning, but then we felt we should either pay our site fee or bugger off, so we came home. I put Cranky Pants down for her nap, and then we went for sushi.
We came back and watched the DVD of the Rocky Horror Show I designed a few years ago, and geeked out on that for a while, while Elizabeth roamed around the living room, wreaking havoc.
I drove Fairlith and Jordan back to her place, pausing at La Casa Gellato to sample some Guiness flavoured ice cream, and then did a grocery shop. I came home just as Jason was giving Elizabeth her bath, so I put the groceries away, and then put her down for the night. Then I got myself a snack and read for a bit.
Drove down to the Spectral studio around 12:30 for the closing night party, hung around for a bit until I realized I was mumbling incoherently, came home, checked my email, wrote this post and then collapsed in bed in a sore, exhausted heap.
