So, the sleep training took one day. Yep. One day. One nap, one bedtime, less than three hours of screaming, total, and now she goes down, happy, sweet and quiet, holds her own bottle and is asleep in minutes, every time.

Yes, we are the luckiest, most spoiled parents in the world.

Until this heatwave.

It's too hot to sleep. It's too hot to sleep when you've just come out of a cool bath, not been towelled dry, put naked in your crib with the window open and a fan blowing through your room, with a bottle of water with an ice cube in it.

People say you can't bring a baby to Clinton because of the temperature extremes. It's estimated that it will 3-5 degrees _cooler_ at Clinton, the August long weekend, than it is in Vancouver this week. And it won't be muggy up there, either.

And at least she'll be able to sleep at night.
