So, the new schedule is that we take turns playing with the baby in the evenings, ending at midnight, when Jason gives her her bath and puts her to bed.
When I give her a bath, it takes about two minutes, and she doesn't seem to mind it at all. When Jason gives her a bath, it takes ten minutes, and she ends up squalling.
Three nights out of four (he calculates) he's needed me to come down and help him calm her down and put her to bed.
He's a _great_ dad. He's doing _beautifully_. But, for some reason, Elizabeth tends to freak out at bed time when he does it, and not when I do.
Needless to say, this is a little hard on his self-esteem. I don't know what he's doing differently. Maybe it's simply that she spends all day with me, and so is more used to me. I don't know.
I do know it's not his fault; he's doing a great job, and she's an ungrateful wretch, to use my mother's favourite nickname for her children. ;)
