today was a good day.
it was my day off. just finished first week of classes. (that's the first week after the 3 weeks of training i've been here.) by the end of the week my girls seem to really be getting in to it. some people took some warming up i think. but it's going pretty well. well there are some not so hot aspects of the class but that has nothing to do with the students.
last night was karaoke night. manning the machine all know sort of lessened its appeal to me. i don't think i'll have the same glimmer in my eyes when thinking of the activity in the future. yesterday was field day. i taught the cotton eyed joe, the electric slide, played badminton, and put on numerous fake tattoos. it was fun. friday night we went to a New Century Theatre play at t14. It was good. The actors were very talented. A highlight was when Crystal (assisstant RC) comes up to me at intermission to asks what's going on in the show. I was amused.
but back to today being good. I woke up and played tennis with Kate. it was entirely too hot and not nearly as perfect as the weather was last time we played. there were cute guys playing next to us, but we couldn't impress them cuz our playing was sucky.
early in the afternoon shayna and taylor came up. we hung around northampton, went to lunch, got cute pics taken at a photo booth, and got herrell's where i saw my lover and he remembered me AGAIN!!! shayna and taylor approved... i think. then they got a driving tour of smith college, they approved of that also. then they headed off.
after getting questioned about my presence at the dorm (you're supposed to split on your day off) i called up regan and soon we headed off to the hampshire mall. after some DDR extreme we saw Bewitched. It was fine. The best part of the movie was the preview for RENT. I'm still gushing about it. I grabbed Regan's arm, and my other hand was on my heart the entire preview. It was a montage of scenes from the movie cross cut with them singing Seasons of Love. SA-WOON!!! (that may be the improper use of that word, but i don't care) Anyway, I think i'll be excited about it this until December when it comes out. It wouldn't have been as awesome if i had seen the preview on tv, it just wouldn't have been the same. definately the highlight of my month.
then regan and i went to friendly's. she hadn't eaten dinner yet. i had, and didn't really want anything, and after an ordeal with some clam chowder. (there were pieces of ham or bacon or some type of pork in it, and no one knew what was really in it, and when she couldn't find the ingredients, but someone told her there wasn't, (even though there really was) i had some french fries, which i also didn't really want. now i'm going to watch hitch. i haven't seen it and i might have watched it today if it wasn't my day off. so that's what i'm up to. later
