6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
This is an interesting passage. What, I think, the writers are saying here is that a bunch of stuff came together somehow and now you have big rocks floating around in the waters. Take note that there are two waters. For waters above: read universe, for waters below read: Seas of the Earth. If you have the universe above and the Seas below then the firmament, well for firmament, we have to read Earth. That's what separates the waters above from the waters below. Since God called the firmament Heaven, I guess we have to believe the Bangle song that says "Oh Baby do ya know what that's worth? Oh, Heaven is a place on Earth." Discuss amongst yourselves.
