Day 10 - A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I should have known I would end up liking it. Vampires, what else could one want, right? But the idea of a show centered around a 17 year old girl turned me off. In fact, the only reason I tuned into the show was because my daughter watched it, and I wanted something we could watch together. The first episode I saw was season 5's Crush, and when I saw James Marsters, I was done. I became a bigger fan than her. What could be better than a love sick vampire?

I liked the writing of the episode as well. I love triangles, and three's and in the episode the character of Spike was confronted with, his past love Drusilla, his future love Buffy, and his current roll in the hay Harmony, and he wound up with his own dick in his hand. It was a very complete episode.

Now I don't know if I'm a Buffy fan or a Spike fan..... Okay, I'm a Spike fan, I followed Spike, who I think was voted "sexiest vampire" in Entertainment Weekly back in 2009, to Angel just so I would have more of the character to play with. I wish it had lasted longer than one season. It would have been a very unique buddy show, one that spanned a century.

Well, here it is ten years later, and I'm still watching reruns and challenging Tess to Buffy trivia. Not only am I a fan, I recite dialogue, and I have every season on DVD.
