Leaves fall where they may

Sep 27, 2005 00:11

Since I've got this blog thing going, I may as well offer up a quick post while I've still got the momentum working in my favor. These past couple of weeks have been interesting to say the least, there's no doubt about that, so I figure a brief update might be in order.

So yeah, I'm sick. I've been sick for the past week and a half or so, and a good portion of it is wholly my fault. I've had a whopper of a barking cough, and I'd be lying if I said I've been off the smokes since I got back from Japan. Funny thing is, it's not a habit I really mind having when I keep it very rare, with friends and what not, but it's hard for me to have a pack and not start smoking them when I'm out and about. I've gotten better of late, but I still have trouble spending any amount of time in the car without a cigarette. Since I went home this past weekend for a friend of the family's engagement party, I bought myself a pack of "ultra milds" to try and give myself whatever advantage I could, but yeah, ultra mild or no, they don't help coughing.

At any rate, I woke up this morning with a fever, so I thought it best to stay home the day and finally give my body some time to recover. Perhaps not the greatest idea, seeing as my course load is heavy, and a day missed makes for a lot of makeup, but I think it was just what my body needed. I spent most of the day in bed watching my new "Steven King's The Stand" DVD, playing (and beating) We Love Katamari (look for a review on Deeko.com by midweek), and talking to the wonderful umilicious on the phone. I can think of worse days to spend a day.

Of course, now I've got to get back to work tomorrow, but I got some headway into cleaning my living space, and it looks like I'll be sleeping at a reasonable hour for the first time in a long time, so here's hoping tomorrow greets me well. Ciao all.
