Leaving.. again!

I'm leaving in a bit for Turlock, CA. It is a small town up north in the middle of California where the best fruit is produced for the rest of the state. Only a very small percentage of the people who live there are farmers. The large majority of people are either:
a)gangsters
b)mexican
c)homeless
d)white people who walk around with no shoes on and never shower
e)indian

I have nothing against any of the above, except for the As. Ugh! The homeless people are quite interesting actually. My cousin claims to be friends with one of them whose name is "Wayne" also known as "the rock man" for his reputation of throwing rocks at people when they anger him. He lives by the railroad tracks and was put in jail a while back, but only served for a little while and now he is back on the streets. I don't know why anyone would want to stay in Turlock, especially if they're homeless. I guess on the plus side, there is a LOT of good fruit there that they could easily pick.

Anyways, I'll be gone for about a week. Hopefully we will be back before the New Year, that way I can celebrate with acquaintances in Poway, rather than sit in front of the television in my Mexican grandma's house in Turlock and watch the ball drop while wishing I could be doing something else.
But we'll probably stay there.
In that case, Happy New Year! Oh, and Merry Christmas!! If you don't celebrate that, then Happy Holidays!

Au revoir.

Oh, and I'm going to buy myself an acoustic guitar. I've been waiting forever, and I think I finally have enough money to get one off Ebay rather than purchase one from the Guitar Center, because those are way overpriced. Any suggestions on how to learn? Should I get someone to teach me? Should I buy some instructional books/dvds? Or should I just mess around?
