the good, the sad, and the comforting
the good:
writing challenge jonowrimo+1.5 starts today! i am working on consistency and now is the perfect time, as my schedule is changing, for me to have the added support of joknowles and all of the jonowrimo participants. i am so thankful for this.
the sad:
patrick swayze passed away. i loved patrick swayze. my older sister even drew me an amazing sketch of him that hung in my bedroom for years (i might even still have that around somewhere). it is so sad to me that he is no longer out there. seaheidi wrote it best so i will just point you to her words. but, i found out today via a link on mediabistro.com that the staff at Barrelhouse have ended their interviews for the last five years by asking, "What is your favorite Swayze movie?" I love this! They have compiled some of their answers here. I don't think anyone said that Ghost was their favorite - it was definitely mine.
the comforting:
sarah dessen (writergrl ) posed a question on her blog about whether or not blogs were still in fashion in a world of facebook and twitter updates. well, i am so comforted to see that she has over 150 comments (as of now) from people who are definitely still reading/writing blogs, and preferring them over their briefer counterparts (briefer, is that a word?). there are so many blogs i would miss if their writers all moved solely to twitter updates.
