Carolina Cup and Nationals

Off to David Gibson's house tomorrow, for the 2nd installment of the Carolina Cup, our own little Scrabble "border war".  Last year SC pulled out a 1-win victory (40.5-39.5, the last game to come in was a tie), but this year our team is much stronger, with 6 of the top 10 active players plus the reigning NSSC champs comprising the NC team.

As for the favorite... It's tough to pick right now. Several players have a chance - it's going to be a fun ride.

Yeah, I don't see anyone running away with things unless someone gets really lucky and hot. If we have a finish like last year's Nationals with several players in contention on the final day, that'd be great.

Hopefully we'll get paired, I'm looking forward to playing some of my LJ friends for the first time.
