SYTYCD: Season 8 Finale!!
Well in my last post I talked about how this season was kind of meh for me. But last night at least, they reminded me that were some really good routines and it was an interesting season. I liked most of the judges picks...
They started with a top 20 group number that was pretty good. I kept trying to watch for different dancers. And it took me until much later in the show to figure out the BLONDE guy was Alexander.
So judges picks:
Sasha/Kent (Contemp) - the wall routine
Melanie/Marko (Hip Hop) - the one with the kiss
Tadd/Lauren (Jazz) - Another One Bites the Dust - better this time - Tadd kept his hat on!!
Miranda/Robert (Hip Hop) - the woodpecker routine - she did her flip correctly this time!
Melanie/Neil (Contemp) - the one with the jump - I was kind of worried about the jump this time but they still did fine
Marko/Allison (Contemp) - This one was really good again
Ashley/Chris (Jazz) - the jail routine - Sooo good - I love Chris!
Sasha/Twitch (Hip Hop) - the breakfast (or soggy cornflakes) routine
Caitlynn/Pasha (Tango) - though it wasn't live - maybe Pasha couldn't make it?
Marko/Melanie (Contemp) - statues - it was cool to see it on TV this time
Melanie/Sasha (Jazz) - still not a big fan of this one
I was surprised they didn't pick the Caitlynn/Mitchell (chair routine) or Sasha/Alexander (coming home)...
Top 10 Girls (Jazz) - the geisha routine. So I've watched this routine maybe a little too much and I was happy that the girls didn't have the makeup on because I had trouble figure out who was who - some of the girls look really alike. And I was hoping for some different camera angles! But it seemed like they had the same camera work going - even the close ups were the same...
Top 10 Guys (Hip Hop) - the doors routine. Same thing about the camera work. I liked this one again a lot. It was funny when they brought out the top 4 to get results and you could tell they were going to do this routine because the boys were wearing their suits.
Cat also picked the Top 8 Circus routine - but it wasn't live either - probably because of the setup and costumes
Alsooo...the winner of SYTYCD UK (a tapper) and Nick and Jess all did a tap routine that was soo good!
I'm curious how the tour is going to go - since some of these routines were not with Top 10 dancers and which all-stars will be touring. It seems odd to take them along for just one routine.
Probably the least surprising winner ever. It went as I expected...

It was funny that they only had Melanie/Sasha left and they did their Sonya routine right before they got the results. Reminds me of when Brandon and Jeanine did their Paso again right near the end.
