Apartment Chaos
The battle against the Pharaoh Ants continues apace.
We were required to remove all of the stuff in the kitchens and bathrooms and move all furniture away from the walls and power outlets. Needless to say the place looked like a wreck yesterday. Additionally, no people or pets could be in the apartment while the Terminex guys were doing their thing. This meant that I had to take the guinea pigs with me on a field trip of sorts. I took them over to my friend Cookie's place. It was a decent afternoon; I got to hang out with Cookie, Ken and Sarah while Dick fell asleep on the carpet ("Are you comfortable? Do you want to go sleep on one of the beds?" "No, I'm good, thanks. ZZzzzz").
The guinea pigs were completely traumatized, giving me "omg, where have you taken us?! we're gonna die!" looks every time I checked on them in Sarah's room. They were quite pleased when we finally got home and I put them back in their big cage last night; they all immediately sacked out and fell asleep.
Meanwhile I now have to get all my kitchen stuff back where it belongs and rearrange all the furniture that is now out of place. While I was putting the bedroom back together last night I decided that I wanted it to look different than it did before. I think it's a good new look. The bed is angled differently and I managed to work out a bit more space for my art desk and easel; which is really important because I want to make sure that I use the easel more often.
I'm debating whether I want to re-do the living room arrangement, as well. I think I'm going to get some graph paper and work things out a bit.
Hopefully yesterday's efforts have killed off the ants so this whole thing doesn't have to be done again.
