Oreo Mint Ice Cream
mmm, wow! It's amazing what 1/8th a teaspoon of peppermint extract can do.
Also, a cup or two of crushed oreos and 7 drops of green food coloring.
Every time I dip my spoon into the newly-churned ice cream and slide some into my mouth ... I just can't see eating store-bought ice cream ever again. Fresh, homemade ice cream is just so very very good. So very simple! Just some cream and a few things added in. Simple, utterly delicious and a quart of ice cream goes a long way.
Someday I want to open up an ice cream shop. I'll make crazy flavors and familiar favorites. I'll grow as many of the ice cream ingredients in my own garden as I can. In the winter I'll sell hot cocoa and tea, as well. Maybe coffee if I have to. Bartering, trading or just plain cash will be accepted. I'll decorate the walls with art by me and my friends. On the weekend nights we'll shove the tables aside and I'll have musicians or performers do little shows. I think that would be really awesome.
