October has been a crazy intense month but on the plus side most of it has been awesomely crazy.
My computer broke, for real, somepoint the second week of the month. It was the same problem that it'd had over the summer and Toshiba refused to be human in their repair cost demands. So I bought an Eee PC (tiny, low priced but does what I need it to). It's arriving this week!
I'm really glad. The computers here in the grad room are ancient, slow and finicky macs. While I have appreciated the chance to learn how to use a mac, it means I've been slacking on computer stuff.
So when the new computer arrives I can do more stuff for class that I kept putting off and I can do more of my online socializing.
Meanwhile, my cohort has been really enabling me on the ice cream thing. I have oodles of ideas for new ice creams, sorbets and frozen yogurts that I want to try to make. They keep suggesting things. And they're good suggestions, too.
And they keep having dang birthdays! I've been making each of my classmates and coworkers ice cream for their birthdays, and it goes over great. Except there are 3 of them the first week in November. So I'm making one ice cream for Halloween and 3 for the first week in November. eep!
It's gonna be delicious, though. :)
