Posting

I used to post to LJ at least once a day, sometimes more than that. Lately I've been forgetting to post even about the really important things.

I want to change that. This is my journal and I want a record of my life. Forgetting to write down the awesome things, the sucky things and the introspective things is just not good. I need to get back in the habit of journalling because it was really fun and it really helped.

I think part of the change really was my move across the country. Most of my original LJ friends were people I knew in day-to-day life and talked to regularly. Posting on LJ had the feel of continuing the day's conversation and morphing it into the next day's conversation. When I moved to Seattle that changed drastically. Then it felt less urgent to post, it became more like postcards and random letters. Plus, everyone is growing up a bit, we're no longer all in class and killing time puttering on the internet; we've got jobs and more commitments and things that are a higher priority than refreshing one's Friends List for the millionth time. I'm slowly knowing Seattlites who are also on LJ so it is beginning to feel more like it used to.

However, even if I'm not seeing my LJ friends every day I still want (and need) to journal more. This is an awesome, fun time in my life in which a lot a lot is changing. It will be good for the present-me and the future-me if I document things better.

So, I will now attempt to start updating my LJ more often. :)
