I think perhaps what made Marlon Brando so great was the simplicity in his performances. He made it look terribly easy. Its always made me wonder why, as time goes on, the greatness in the quality of humans seems to decline. Think of sports. Think of music. Think of actors. Think of societies. Everything great and powerful and magnificent seemed to thive before our time. Name a boxer like Ali. Name a basketball player like Michael Jordan or Dr. J. Name a band that can compete with the likes of The Rolling Stones/Miles Davis/The Beatles. Name an actor that wouldn't bow to Sir Lawrence Olivier/Marlon Brando. Who can not look at the Old Roman Empire and think of anything but splendor and awe. Its such honor to be called THE BEST or PIONEER. We take for granted the minds that brought us to where we are. But, I also wonder why more people dont learn from the predecessors - they set a pattern, a standard to learn by and progress on. Most people just mimic in hopes of achieving an ounce of someone elses sweat. Its time to break the mold...
