so, not only was Shrink able to write a prescription for me, he was actually able to see me briefly. i explained my issue w/ the benzos, he totally understood, we talked about SSRIs and i think Neurontin (gabapentin) for daily management, and benzos for immediate treatment. i'm going back on lexapro, since they had samples of that and it was at least moderately helpful last year, and i just filled a prescription for klonopin that should help tide me over for the next couple weeks. i'm keeping the appointment for the first to follow up on how the lexapro is doing.

man, when i started going over the events of the past few months -- M getting so sick, inviting FB back into my life, Dra-Ma w/ FB, moving office, moving house, was there more? probably -- i realized that i'm actually doing really fucking well, under the circumstances. given that it took me this long to buckle, that's a marked improvement.

my hot water seems to have magically reasserted itself. score. i'm still gonna call patty, though, and find out what the deal is. and then i'm going to WASH MY FRICKIN' HAIR, assuming i can get enough water pressure to rinse it well.
i finally remembered to pick up a cheap bottle of dishwashing liquid and some cheap sponges for work, because for some reason we don't have any at the hot site, and i was getting squicked at the idea of drinking out of the same cup over and over when all i could do was rinse it well and wipe it out w/ a paper towel. i kept forgetting to ask why they weren't providing soap & sponges (they do at our other site; it's part of housekeeping, apparently) but since i was at the store and they had the soap for $.99 and 10 sponges for $.99, i figured it was worth the $2.

so, to sum up: have drugs, will travel. just took my first dose of lexapro; am holding off on the klonopin until i get home and finish my freelance job tonight. but then, oh yes, i will sleep. and brazil was very happy to see me when i got home. gave my ear a nice wet snuffle. *cringe*
