brainpower failing. too much going on. ack!
seriously, i've been running around like crazy of late, trying to remember everything i have to do and still sleep on occasion. i'm afraid i wasn't the world's best hostess for SF, b/c i was so flippin' tired i just couldn't think straight. he didn't seem to mind, though, sweet man that he is. and it was lovely having him here. we finished off buffy season 1 (he is officially hooked, although he was sad to see The Master go -- "The Master had panache!"). and he'd never seen
incubus so i bumped it up my queue. he was quite amused. "it's exactly like an ingmar bergman film, only in esperanto!"
let's see... today was apparently Shopping Day. i hit monkey mall after work to get more lush stuff (because i am weak) and to get a pair of crocs for the zoo. (appropriate, no?) i hadn't ever tried crocs before, and was quite pleased with them. my only disappointments were that a) they did not have the new "bistro" style, which are designed for food service people who have to stand for hours at a time, and b) they didn't have the regular ones in purple in my size. alas! they did, however, have a nice shiny blue pair that should almost exactly match my volunteer shirt (hee).
there was a sample of coolaulin conditioner in the goody bag i got last time, and i dug the smell so much (even though it wasn't enough to tell how it did on my mass of hair) that i picked up a small bottle to try. also, they came out w/ some new stuff, including some excellent-smelling shampoo called "curly wurly." guess what hair type it's for? go on, guess. so i got a sample of that.
they've apparently discontinued the elixir melts, and can no longer get something wicked this way comes, so i grabbed a few of each of those, then left before i could find MORE stuff to buy.
came home, reheated some indian fude for dinner, said hi to mom (they're back, obviously), then decided it was bath time. even threw on a mask before i got in. oh, it was NICE.
if i like the crocs enough, i may spring for another pair. i was tempted, but figured i should cut the spending for the day. until i came home and ordered buffy season three, although that was from amazon marketplace and the dregs of my gift certificate knocked it down to about $15 (including shipping). i figure that was a good way to close out the birth-month.
now i'm a-gonna have some ice cream (mmmmint chocolate cookie, yay!) and watch some
kingdom hospital. which reminds me, i should totally dig out the original to watch again some time soon. and oh mah gah, didja know that they've turned
manos: hands of fate into a
rock opera?!!@# i about died when a couple people posted that link last week.
