Time to get my nerd on

It's been a long day at the lab, I've been preparing for a miniprep to get DNA for cloning, I've also done a TCA prep for more cloning and a genomic DNA extraction for a protein extraction. If you couldn't guess, next week I'm doing a lot of cloning and characterisation, tomorrow I'll be in all day carrying out a miniprep and preparing slides for confocal analysis. I also need to finish off the last lot of confocal analysis I have. I'll probably also take the time to get the initial processing of video files that I need to get through, surprisingly this is very time consuming despite it being mostly automated, but deconvolution often is. However, despite how good the wet work is going, I may have to get an extension if we don't get the hardware in that I need, the company is quite new so they're constantly updating their equipment and have made our control box useless so I can't acquire any of the videos I so desperately need. My boss though has promised to threaten to them to take his business elsewhere if they fail to rectify the problem in a timely fashion (it took them three weeks to send us plates when it should only take a few days).

Okay, but enough science talk now, I'm preparing to order my next wodge of comics and am considering how best to utilise having the flat to myself... while I'm not in the lab that is.

And I'm off to eat.
