Oh, hey.
I just remembered that I can draw. For reals.
I've been drifting away from traditional art since I got the tablet, because there's such a HUGE learning curve and the tools are close-ish but not quite, but close enough that when I have to redo the same line a hundred times to get it right, or if it takes me 5 layers to go from sketch to ink (let alone colour!) I get kind of frustrated and wonder why I even bother because clearly I'm the shittiest, slowest artist that ever did art and I should just give it up and take up paper toll (tole? IDK, that thing where you cut out layers from many sets of the same print to create a sheezy 3-d effect) only I wouldn't be any good at that because me and rulers, and sharp things, and straight ANYTHING aren't that great of a combo.
But in the aftermath of Basil vs the Laptop, I've had to redraw the line art for my Big Bang by hand and what took me HOURS of fiddling on the tablet and way too many layers was accomplished over lunch today. By hand. And it looks better than the digital version. And it was fun!
Now I just need to work out a background and some colours.
I may be actually be ahead of schedule for a change. I must be forgetting something.
