As I have mentioned a few times..
I am a huge fan of old games, old school gaming, and the dice that go with both..
Sadly, I had to miss all of the previous MTG gatherings either because of work, because I did not know they were going on, or because Madison is still quite a drive away..
However, on June 19th I was able to attend..
I left plenty early, but had to pick up a couple of dvd's for anime girl (seasons four and five of Ace of Cakes) since she can't drive in large towns/cities
So I got there at 10.. only one player was there..
we chatted a bit, looked up hopefully as people entered the library..
then
badger2305 showed up and then others began to trickle in
Unfortunately, the weather was basically perfect.. and after several weeks of heavy rain, it seemed that many availed themselves to sunshine and warm weather
me.. as I said them.. I'm outside all the time.. I'd rather sit in the air conditioning and game..
outside has bugs.. and sun... and hippies
Even though only a handful of stalwart adventurers had shown up, we still soldiered on with the gaming. We started off with Traveller. (
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traveller_(role-playing_game)) Sadly, the GM of the events had rushed out leaving his npc's and pre-generated characters at home so we rolled up our own characters. We got underway, and for some reason my character was made Captain of our small vessel..
(edit of long rambling post of actual game play)
We had had plans of playing Mutant Futures.. but.. we just played Classic Traveller..
it was fun
On the 17th of July we are having another meeting where I will be running a game of 7th Sea..
no.. it's not technically an 'old game', but it falls under the umbrella of old school due to it's game play
I'm looking forward to it..
anyone that wants to fly in from their prospective corners of the world is free to do so.. I'll keep a seat open :-D
