I don't mind when an individual says 'its cold here'..
or any other statement about their local weather.
honestly.. I don't..
if someone in normally warm area suddenly gets hit with a temp 15 to 20 degrees cooler than what they are used to..
yes..
thats cold..
to them anyway
what truly annoys me, and has for years, is the national weather-person..
this high exalted weather expert..
this bastion of science and learning..
this paragon of all that is weather related..
I don't mind the grand overview of national weather.
Knowing what its like in Bumfuck, Idaho can be somewhat interesting..
knowing what its like near any of my friends is similarly interesting..
but for fraks sake... why do they feel they have the right to hold one area of the country to be of greater importance than any other
for the past few days when I have listened in on the weather news..
what do I hear?
'oh, a major cold front is hitting the east coast.. expect tempuratures of around 40'
allow that to sink in..
40
what the hell is so special about 40?
you want to know what the tempurature is going to be here tomorrow?
4
let that sink mr. weatherman..
let that twirl around in your coffee cup ms. weatherwoman..
they don't mention jack-crap in regards to national weather (except a passing comment here or there)
bah..
bah, I say unto thee national weather-people!!
if you had wanted to stay zoned in on one particular portion of the nation..
then you should have stayed local
you should avoid the brightlights and flash of the national spot
It would almost..
almost be alright if they paid equal attention to other portions of the country
but..
they don't..
weather-people suck.. (but this is mostely due to the fact that guessing the weather for the next five days is still pretty much a crap-shoot)
the national weather-people suck even more..
Nix
