Do I get a prize?

So I called my DSL tech support to figure out why my old email account got suspended because my old phone number was canceled when it was supposed to have transfered to my new phone number, got quickly passed up to the 2nd line tech support (where you're dealing with people who actually have a brain in their head), and currently he's got me on hold so he can speak with HIS tech support.

Right now, there's a strong possibility I won't get my old email address back... I'll keep you updated. :)

Update! As Promised!

That tech support guy at the 2nd tier was cool.
Anyway, he found a workaround, with the help of HIS tech support guy. He set me up with a NEW email address for the purpose of the internet connection, and somehow through that managed to get me back access to my OLD email address.

Of course, the old email address is primarily a spam collector. None of my friends use it for anything that I'm aware of... so I may gradually phase out the old one even further, and merge my yahoo email account with the new email account (as it shouldn't be a spam collector yet) and see whether there are any legit emails still going to the old account...

So everything's good.
Plus, he told me I should *demand* that the business office send me a free filter kit because when I got DSL installed I didn't even have the option of self-installation and so I had my line hard split and hardwired and I didn't have any filters to bring with me when I moved, and that wasn't my fault, so I shouldn't be penalized for it. And he said that if they still wouldn't send it free, I should call back tech support and ask for the 2nd tier guys, and ask them -- cuz they still have the ability to order free kits and send them to customers. He just thinks I should *try* going through the business office first... ... those guys are so cool. I just wish I'd had more questions I could ask him so I could get more really good advice I hadn't even thought of asking for... :) (I'd simply asked him why there was still noise on my phone even though I had a DSL filter on the line, and when he mentioned that I needed a filter on every jack that had a phone plugged into it, even if that phone wasn't in use, I said I'd go back to Radio Shack to get another filter, and that's when I got the advice about the business office...)

But yeah. :)

Happy day. :)

Only bad thing about the day so far is that I've got a REALLY sore throat... and no clue what caused it. Oh well...
