the cats saw fit for me to be awake at 6am. Actually, they had nothing to do with it, but once I was up they demanded food anyway. The nap that I took on the couch while watching
Inside Man on DVD last night probably has a lot to do with it. Anyway, it's still nearly 10pm, a time that used to be HOURS before my bedtime, and I'm seriously contemplating crashing in my bed.
The work is driving me batty. I've finally gotten in 15.5 hours for the week. I've got tomorrow to snag as many more as I'm able... but I'd need to rack up 24.5 hours over the next 26 hours to get in a "full" week of work... and I really don't think I'm up to it. Maybe I'll do better next week... but I doubt it.
As for the cats... I love them! I just wish they loved each other. They can't stand each other. Well, that's not quite true. They're tolerating each other now. It just took them a few days to establish their roles in the new home... but I got my first broken skin today when I was stupid and continued petting
Charlie even though I could tell she was angry. I should've noticed her glare was directed at
Bob. I was trying to calm her down though when my hand went to her head, and next thing I know, claws were flailing and little Charlie's in the bedroom (about 10 feet away). I just got scratched minorly on the side of my thigh. I had to search to find the damage (all I knew was I felt claws and something felt sore), and really it was nothing to worry about. No chance at a scar. However, these two... they've really got to get adopted. I wish the adoption event tomorrow hadn't been cancelled due to lack of participation. Bob *really* needs to be an only cat, and Charlie would do so much better if she had another social cat she could play with. I love them both, and really wouldn't mind adopting either for myself... but I can't make these guys stay together -- it would be torture for them both -- and there's no way I can choose between them. If you're at all interested in giving one of these loving kitties a permanent home, please let me know, and come out to the next
Animal Avengers adoption event, Sunday September 3 at the Petco on Robertson in Beverlywood.
Now, if only I could find the time to finish settling into my apartment while getting work done and cleaning up litterboxes for 2 kitties...
