Ok, so this is going to be a long one. In anticipation of that, I'm going to break things up into multiple posts (based on the amount of time I have for writing).
Alright, let's do this chronologically...
7 Aug: ingrown toenail surgery in the morning, all's well. Afternoon meeting at work (topic: change in scope of discovery for case we're working on) gets rescheduled for 4:30 Tuesday, which I inform them I can't make due to fridge installation.
8 Aug: work in the morning, hop out to new apartment late morning to be there for the fridge installers. I got there around 12:05, and they got there around 4. Fridge is too big for the space. It fits, if you take the top of the range off (the range top fits back on once the fridge is in). Overall, this feels Not Good. Get a call around 5pm from work -- major change in scope. Case settled (aka BIG change in scope), they won't be needing us anymore. They want us to finish out the week just to tie up loose ends. Spoke with temp agency, learned there's likely a job I can get myself on starting following week. Got home to find message from another temp agency inquiring of my availability.
9 Aug: Called the other temp agency to tell them my newfound availability, and learned about a GREAT short-term project (3 weeks, 60 hrs per week)... I wouldn't be able to keep up the pace longer than that, though. Other than that, uneventful.
10 Aug: Shrink appointment, all's well. In good spirits. Payday! Stay late at work to make up missed time, miss the bus by about 5 seconds (I was waving my arms and running and still it didn't wait), had to figure out another way home as the next SM 10 wasn't going to come by for another hour, and it was starting to get dark. Got home OK, but exhausted.
11 Aug: last day at the office. New information about potential work (Yay!). Caught the usual bus home. Did lots of packing.
12 Aug: last day with my furniture. I packed up what I could into the boxes I had, then spent about 8 hours working on data cleanup for my other job. Still have about 10 hrs left of stuff that needs to be done, and they wanted it 3 weeks ago.
... and the rest will have to wait for the next installment as I've got to run off to my second chiropractor appointment for the week (which is another story and will be detailed in a later installment)...
