Note: I've actually been on a writing block for a very long time, my last drabble dating from at least over a year ago ,and the second-to-last one from two years ago. Therefor, I'm quite probably not very good, and I've found that with time and lack of training, my english has become a little shaky v__v. What I ask here is not for clemence, but really, for your honesty. Tips, critics, anything to be able to improve would be extremely appreciated. Danke!

Sometimes it happens that Linalee thinks back of memories she holds from her childhood at the Organisation. They aren’t all golden, but not completely black either.

She remembers Kanda as a small boy, back when she first met him. Back when she herself was an even smaller girl.
Their first encounter took place not long after she had been taken away from her brother - in fact, Kanda arrived at the organisation only a little after her.
She cannot recall exactly how it was when they met for the very first time, but there is a particular moment that she does remember rather acurately.
It is a tiny memory , but one that makes her smile as she thinks of it. Perhaps there is a bit of bittersweetness in that smile it spawns.

Kanda, as a little boy, screaming at the headcook in the cafeteria for a plate of sobas. Making a racket, demanding, ordering his soba.

She takes a few step towards him. Clinging to her dress, afraid a bit, but not exactly of the boy. Afraid of the image of herself she can see in him. Herself, not so long ago. Terrified of the unfamiliar grounds. She has managed to calm, now ,though. If she tells herself very hard that if she stays here, it will be the best for her older brother ,then she can manage to control herself from screaming. Screaming for her brother, screaming to be taken back home.

But this boy, he is not asking for home. He is not screaming for home. He is screaming for a plate of noodles.

“Why... do you want your soba so much?” she risks.

Kanda pauses in his screaming.

Nearly a whisper, trying to put as little emotion as possible in his words, he quietly says “....because that tastes like home.”

“May I...may I have a little bit of your home as well?”

Nowadays, it still happens that at theDark Religious organization quarters you may sometimes, on very rare and completely coincidential occasions, spot a boy and a girl next to each other - long, flowing black hair for both- quietly eating a plate of sobas side by side in the cafeteria.
