spiraling revisited . . .

Sometimes art is all about knowing which mistakes to celebrate and which accidents to turn into a magical and creative advantage. It was by accident I created the look of being underwater in my Spiraling series - created in 2001. I sought to complete this series a few days ago. I think the muses were out to lunch and I learned it is nearly impossible to recreate the magic of the moment. Instead what was created became something similar yet different. These images are now part of my Abyss series. I am still going to finish my Spiraling series. I learned a lot from the shoot and will try again very soon. This first image is one that didn't fit in with the others and therefore was not included in my Abyss series. The others are from the Abyss series.  Images link to full-size.

I am very excited for Wednesday to arrive - I've scheduled a photoshoot with one of my favorite models, Suzanne.
She's come over to visit a few times over the years but it's been 4 years since I have photographed her.  She is 8 months pregnant with her first child and is very excited to be preparing for the arrival of her son.

I recently submitted some of my new work to a local juried group exhibit.  I am excited and hope to be able to participate as I have yet to exhibit anything locally - that would be a neat experience.

Okay, I am going to get my sleepy little self into the kitchen and bake something yummy and fragant.  What I really want to do is crawl back under my comfy covers and hibernate.  I love the colder weather makes me wish I had somebody to snuggle.
