Time passes, things change, things remain the same
We're married, we're happy. But things are changing -- aren't they always...
In a career move I've entered a Juris Doctorate, a graduate entry law degree, in an attempt to overcome the stasis that is employment for Continental theory in its native home of the humanities. Law is certainly a humanities-aligned field, but I'm honestly astounded by the joyful reception that my work receives there compared with my philosophical peers. As one sage professor has noted, I've reinvented myself as a cultural studies academic to survive in academia; now I'm reinventing myself as a law and culture scholar. Who knows, maybe I'll be a hip legal theorist.
