Valentine's Day falls on a Sunday this year, hence restaurant booking chaos. We went to Belle Epoch last year, but this year I really wanted to try out the Isis refit that is now called "Ortiga". Alas, they won't be open. But the generous folk at Gianni's are having a special dinner sitting on the 14th (usually they don't do Sunday dinner) so we're off to there instead. It's a set menu at $99 a head plus wine, but compared with the other things on offer that's actually quite fair. (the image links out to a larger version)



I'm keen on heading there for the wine list more than anything else. Although I certainly won't sniff at the 20 year old balsamic that accompanies the pork belly and sea scollops for the first course.
