Marking, Music, and Munching

Yesterday I marked papers. Today I marked papers. Marking papers is an interesting exercise in managing a clearance sale on your sanity. Sanity should not be sanitised, just cleansed of these pathological bits and pieces. But sometimes it is precisely such pathologies that let you mark papers quickly, and with repetitive phrasing.

Today I finally found a copy of Végétal by Emilie Simon. HMV have apparently been taken over by Sanity which is why the order never arrived. I walked into Rocking Horse Records this afternoon before meeting my friends for lunch and found myself a copy immediately. Obviously I need to reconfigure my music shopping habits again. I don't know why I suddenly started popping into HMV... Maybe it's just because it was 'there.'

Shell, John, and I had a late lunch at Salon European Tapas circa 2.30pm. First thing to say about this place: great wine list. We had a Mount Trios pinot noir that was to die for. The tapas was quite fantastic too. We ordered tomato tartlettes, spiced & roasted pork belly, and white anchovy something or other. Everything was delightful, although I'm now convinced the anchovy is the menthol cigarette of the fish world.

It was a consensus post-lunch that we all needed a siesta. I'm pretty sure John was off to have one after we dropped him off, and I know Shell was going to have one once she got home. Alas, I've had far too much coffee today and am neurotically, obsessively with it. it. it. it. it. it.

This is a weird sensation. I'm mellow and wired at the same time.
