Recently, there's something that's bothering me a bit.
Why do people endlessly bash Cueshe? Granted, I don't think the band sucks utterly and completely, it just sucks.
And it's once again the way of people to think that going against the bandwagon is cool. Well, hating something just because it's popular and the masses dig it is just about as mindless as going on the bandwagon itself... which I was reminded of rather embarrassingly a time ago.
The thing I'm saying is that one shouldn't hate, bash and flame things arbitrarily... one should give everything the "benefit of the doubt". Ever since then, I've been rather ambivalent towards the music of Cueshe. "Stay" sucked, "Sorry" is ok, "Ulan" makes me a freaking Uchiha Sasuke emo bastard, "24 Hours" is crap, and the only Cueshe song I like right now is their cover of the Eraserheads' "Hard To Believe". *puts up massive flame shield*
By the way, if you haven't figured it out, Cueshe is an effing HAIR METAL BAND... something spawned from the post-alternative Philippine rock scene. Nothing more, nothing less. They're popular because they obviously specialize in power ballads, something the effusively sentimental Filipino masses latch onto like Tomoyo onto Sakura... (bad analogy, I know.)
So, I ask, what's cool about bashing something you know will still be listened to in, I don't know, 10-20 years from now? (imagines a Cueshe reunion tour and cringes. A lot.)
Well, this philosophy of giving everything a chance didn't stop me from showing just what a stinking piece of crap Gundam SEED Destiny is, even after I'd given it the benefit of the doubt. You really can't excuse bad character design, bad mecha design, and ABYSMAL story writing.
Mitsuo Fukuda and Chiaki Morosawa, you can take the express elevator down to the bowels of hell right now. And take your anime character avatars with you as well. Bastards.
