Heat Wave & Smoothies

Dammit what is wrong with california weather nowadays??? It was so freaking hot today and I just checked on Y! Weather which indicated that at 5:25 pm it was 95 degrees! And it's almost October too! Crazy!! You suck Santa Ana wind!

It was so hot that I went to the market, got a pack of strawberries ($.85), a honeydew melon ($.95), and low-fat milk ($2.39), went home, took out the blender and juice extractor and had a go at it. I tried to blend strawberries and milk together and it came out very sour. I should've known this as I had done it before: strawberries are the worst kind to mix alone. Ok so I peeled half a banana and mixed it with the smoothie. Came out pretty good 'cuz of course banana makes the best smoothie: rich, creamy, smooth, and flavorful. Next I took extracted the juice out of the honeydew (reason? Honeydew with flesh blended in a smoothie tastes very very bitter *tried this 2 times*) and mixed milk and honeydew alone. Now honeydew juice is in itself very refreshing and wonderful but the honeydew I brought hasn't riped yet so it didn't have that wonderful sweet taste to it. But mixing it with milk provides that sweet taste. Feeling an urge for an experiment, I went ahead and dumped the rest of the strawberries to the honeydew/milk mixture. It was still alright but it wasn't the best smoothie to drink: sour taste of strawberry still lingered.
