first off, the DC trip.
For those who don't know, I went to Washington DC on April 27 through May 1. My We the People competition class won state and so we went to nationals. the trip was cool. i guess. like i figured, i spent most of my time either by myself, or as the third wheel. except at the competition. speaking of which, went pretty well. we didn't place and we didn't get south regional. but we did pretty good. first day was not so great, but the second day was infinitely better. especially for me. ouch. the first day hurt. i cried after my unit was done. of course my teacher and everyone told me it wasn't that bad. but whatever. the cool part of the trip was the places we went. Just basically going to list off the places we visited. Smithsonian Museums (Air and Space, Art (not modern), and Natural History), Capitol Hill, National Archives, Library of Congress, Arlington National Cemetery, the Lee House, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Gene Taylor's office, Rayburn building, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, World War II Memorial, Iraqi war memorial, Holocaust Museum, National Health and Science Museum, the White House, and the Supreme Court. We had a DJ dance party in the Pentagon City Mall. that was cool. kinda, except my glasses got broken when I got elbowed in the face by the crazy kids in the 'mosh pit'... My favorite place was the Supreme Court. we got to listen to the judges' decisions and opinions on four cases. It was AWESOME. We heard two patent cases including the Microsoft v AT&T, a case about garbage, and the GA Highway Patrol case. and the Justices have a sense of humour. Roberts cracked jokes when he was presenting the case. it was cool. OH yeah, we also went to Union Station. That was pretty cool. i hated all the walking though. my legs were very angry with me at the end of the trip. the banquet was cool too. and the semi-formal dance was fun. we had bands called Bread and Butter. two separate bands that is. lol. it was great. We also drove by the National Cathedral and down Embassy Row. The trip was pretty fun. But I'm glad it's over.
anyways, on to SOLAR...
OMGs. Easily one of the best things in the world. actually really don't feel like writing about it though. Too much to talk about. and you're probably thinking that about what i wrote about the DC trip. basically, i love it. it makes me happy. and my classmates suck because they laughed at me. my favorite part of the weekend was probably sparring with Chris and playing Liar's Dice. That was fun. maybe i'll write more another time.
okay random...
finally got over my illness. except now i have a cold. figures. i just can't be healthy. ah well, i'll get over it as i always do. still hate the hospital and emergency room though. my throat is now sore. icky.
in other news, i have an ap bio exam in seven hours. whatever. i'm glad i'm graduating in nine days. and my grad party is in seven days. cool. it'll be fun. fifty relatives and thirty friends. scary combination. seriously.
i need to be beat in teh head. i'm confused. and i don't know. i mean, ack. i quit, but ah it doesn't matter. i got three people on my back. and i hate lectures.
also, i don't want to go on the band trip in two weeks. i'm just not excited for it. it's not a big deal. plus i don't really like most of the people going on it... meh. more and more i can't wait for the coming fall semester.
i'm gone now. later.
