http://davidtennantontwitter.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/no-season-two-for-gracepoint.html My heart breaks for David because this was supposed to be his big intro into the US market and it just tanked.
I dunno. I do feel that Alec Hardy was a better character than Emmett Carver, which is weird because it's really the same character. Just felt like they went overboard with the whole being a d*ck thing with Carver whereas Hardy seemed sad/bitter/angry. Carver came across more of just crotchety.
Or maybe it was the odd pairing with Anna Gunn. They didn't have the magic of Tennant/Coleman.
Or maybe ... it just wasn't Broadchurch. It was the 'poor man's' Broadchurch and just didn't measure up. I don't watch live TV much so I don't know how much press it got but going up against football and Scandal, good luck. Article's right - it needed to come in as a mid-season show. That's how you get people to watch a show like this. Don't stack them up against the juggernauts.
Oh well, at least there's the 2nd season of Broadchurch to look fwd to.
