First off, my apologies. With one thing and another, I've been quite busy and quite side-tracked from posting anything to livejournal, much less keeping up with the Daily Demoscene. However, there will be a demo for each day from the start of the series until Notacon.
Today, we take a look at Conspiracy's "Beyond" which won first place at State of the Art, 2004 for the 64k intro compo. Considering that all of that astronomical imagery and computation was crammed into just 64k, this demo is nothing short of amazing! It could serve well as the opening sequence for an educational series or documentary on astronomy. Though, it does apparently bog down and stutter at times, undoubtedly due to the computational load it's placing on the CPU and the graphics processors. I know first hand how processor-slamming numerical calculations like this can be.
