Finding the PsychoEx outside my door was a pretty bad ending to what had been a pretty good weekend overall. On Friday, I traveled to Ann Arbor for the Michigan 2600 meeting and enjoyed hanging with my hacker friends immensely. Then, I headed to
neiseluv's apartment for a very late night computer repair run. Her computer is now online wirelessly and is up to date with all of XP's Windows Updates, including Service Pack 2. Alas, the DVD-ROM I brought over from her old computer appears to have committed seppuku for reasons known only to itself.
It got so late that eventually even caffeine wasn't going to help me think, so I crashed on her couch. When I woke up, I got her DVD player working with her TV, and watched The Bourne Identity for the first time. The day stretched on into afternoon and we hung out and watched the Michigan/Michigan State football game, rooting for opposite teams, which made it fun.
After finally leaving
neiseluv's, I headed over to
noweb4u and
ladymace's for Mexican soup, fresh home-made tamales and the chronicles of Stephen Colbert's presidential bid in South Carolina. Around midnight, we headed to the $CLEC_REDACTED colocation facility to install a new DC power supply and controller into the rack. I was mainly there to assist
noweb4u and make sure that he didn't electrocute himself with 60 amp DC current. It all went well.
I'm also finally starting to feel better physically, as I'm getting over this nasty cold/virus that seems to be making the rounds all over the Midwest. In other words, it was a very good weekend, until she showed up outside my door.
