Summary: After the dead vanish and Matt gets the courage to go home, he takes his newly found kitten, Sophie, with him to introduce her to her new home.

Ritsuka had waited a short while after receiving one of the forwarded picture before he could wait no longer and had run off to meet the kitten. Chewing lightly on the inside of his lip he knocked on Matt's door, rocking on his heels. He hoped this was all right. He liked Matt.

Matt opened the door when he heard the knock, smiling at the person on the other side. "Hey Ritsuka! Are you here to meet Sophie?" The older smiled at the cat-boy, his head tilted to the side a bit, closing the door a bit as he felt said kitten rub against his leg, afraid she would try to escape. "No no.. Stay in your home, Sophie. It's a shitter outside."

Ritsuka nodded, giving a bit of a polite bow, ears low in a shy manner. "Hello Matt-san." He brightened at the brief peek at the kitten, giving a small laugh, ears darting up and tail swishing lightly. "She is cute," he said with a grin, "I'm glad you kept her."

"Come in come in." The redhead moved out of the way, reaching down to nudge the kitten away from the door, not wanting her to get out or get stepped on. "I'm glad I got to keep her. If Mello said no I wouldn't have been able to..."

Ritsuka stepped inside carefully, minding his tail didn't get caught in the door, eyes still trained on the kitten. His ears unconsciously mirrored the kitten's, twitching this way and that before he looked up to Matt, beaming. "I'm glad you came back. And that the dead people left. Thank you for all your help, Matt-san. You're really nice."

Matt smiled at the teen, reaching out to ruffle his hair gently before closing the apartment door. "I couldn't be in a place that dead people were living in at the same time. It was just weird..."

Leaning down, the redhead scooped up the furry blob rubbing against his legs and held her up for Ritsuka to see better and hold if he wanted to. "You're welcome and thanks... I don't hear that much."

His ears flattened a bit shyly at the touch to his head, cheeks flushing, lips curling into a smile, and making a small noise that was ridiculously close to a purr.

He wigged a finger at the kitten, leaning close before finally taking her gently into his hands, making a face as she batted at his hair, and laughing. "Why not? You are."
