It had taken Sasuke several minutes before he could bring himself to look for his PCD and leave the graveyard. It was just too surreal. He had thought he hallucinated when he first saw Kabuto and Orochimaru during the beginning of the week, but now...his lost twin.

Sasuke.

Sasuke placed his PDA in the pocket of his hoodie and placed his face in his hands, just standing there for a minute. He needed to calm down and regather his composure. There really wasn't any need to worry anyone, and the fact that he had worried two people already - his brother being one of them - just wasn't worth the trouble.

With a sigh, Sasuke dropped his hands and continued the walk toward the apartment building. Even if he couldn't see that far ahead of him, he didn't bother activating his Sharingan. He didn't need to waste the energy for the constant reminder that those around him weren't real.

Finally, when the Uchiha reached the apartment building, he stopped on the second floor and knocked on Itachi's door. He didn't bother waiting for an answer before stepping in. He knew Itachi would know he needed the company.

Itachi returned to the chair he had been sitting in earlier, his back up against the wall, his hand folded in his lap, slender fingers intertwined with each other. His breathing regulated, only a quick, simple clearing of his throat not moments before Sasuke knocked.

He looked up, watching the door open, revealing his brother on the other side, standing to greet him. He knew, seeing this phantoms in the streets, with faces so familiar, it was unsettling, and disheartening. There wasn't much he really could do, to erase the images of these faces that walked the streets. Faces of past allies, loved ones, and friends. Faces that stirred overwhelming grief and guilt in his mind, and probably things just as bad in Sasuke's.

"...Hey." That was all the greeting Itachi would get. It didn't even sound sincere at all. After a quick glance at his brother, Sasuke avoided eye contact and walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge of it.

He fidgeted slightly, messing with the sleeve of his hoodie and the humming of his gloves. He wasn't even sure what he was supposed to do now. He really didn't have anything in mind other than get out of the graveyard. He just knew that he didn't want to ask who Itachi had seen. He didn't want to know, but if he wanted to disclose that sensitive information, he wouldn't stop him.

Itachi nodded in greeting, watching, arms crossed over his chest. He was quick to note the lack of feeling in his greeting, and even with eyes as poor as his, he caught that Sasuke had not met his eyes.

He walked over, his bare feet causing the floorboards beneath him to creak from his weight, making their last groan almost as if in relief as he sat on the bed next to his brother. The bed was no better, creaking under added weight, squeaking as he adjusted himself, one arm supporting his weight, his torso turned toward Sasuke.

"I would assume you have seen the other Sasuke?" I was more then likely, given Sasuke's post. How unsettling it must be to see a similar to one's own face on one of these things. His at least, were faces he was well accustomed to seeing in his subconscious mind.

Sasuke jumped slightly. He clenched his hands tight before they could show his anxiety and slowly nodded. Seeing his older twin was... god, he didn't even know. He bit down on his lip lightly before forcing his hands to unravel and stay still. Sasuke wasn't even sure how he was supposed to respond. How did Itachi deal with things like these?

"...Yeah. I did."

He nodded in initial response.

"I had figured as much."

Years of suppression did not allow him to say that it was no easy task seeing these things. But it did not make it any less true. So he knew, even without words, or body language it would be upsetting to Sasuke.

Still, Itachi couldn't do much, there was nothing to do to erase the memories of seeing what had been seen, so all he could offer was comfort. Which came in the form of a pale hand resting against the pseudo spikes of Sasuke's hair, heavy, and reassuring.

Ebony eyes widened at the contact before slowly looking up at Itachi. It was the first time...in a decade that Itachi had comforted him in such a way. Had this been a different time, he would have surely started crying right then. But he didn't. He wasn't going to allow himself such weakness. After first meeting his brother again, he did cry, yes, but that was it. He promised himself afterward that he wouldn't do such a pitiful act again.

Itachi have the strands a small ruffle before pulling his hand away, pulling it back to him, settling it against his lap. I really had bee a long time since he was able to actually act like the brother he once was, instead of concealed behind lies and fabrications. Behind what had been believed to be true. Though he had not bee pleased with it at first, perhaps Madara had finally did something right, and gave him this second chance.

Sasuke was still speechless. He looked away as Itachi pulled his hand away and went back to fidgeting. He was silent for several more minutes before he finally decided to just say it.

"Thank you, aniki."

Itachi nodded, the faintest of smiles touching his features.

"You're welcome, otouto."

Silence for several more minutes.

"How...are you holding up, exactly?" He'd never asked anything of this sort when it came to his brother. Not even as a kid, so he was just a little awkward about doing so now.

It couldn't be all about him, after all.
