[Allen's out with Tim, scouting the area around the apartment building. There really isn't much he hasn't already seen, but it's still a better alternative than the renewed silence of his room. His PDA has taken up permanent residence in his coat pocket by now, so if anyone posts to the network, he'll be able to respond quickly.]

[ She's still tinkering with the functions of the PDA - which she has recently realized how similar it was to a golem - when that faint flutter of gold and silver catches her eye. Lenalee, for a moment, thinks that it's him. ]

Allen--!

[ The last end of the call however fades. He can't be here, can he?

Last she had heard, he was at the Asian branch, recuperating. She still regrets a lot of things that had happened, including having to leave him. Maybe it was just her imagination. ]

[The sight of the ruined church tells Allen he's wandered too far, and he's just about to turn back when the last voice he's expecting to hear makes him whip right around, eyes easily picking out a familiar figure.]

Lenalee!?

[...Upon a closer look, he realises she's familiar the same way a memory is, which tells of many complications to come, but he really doesn't care right now. She's still Lenalee, and she's obviously hurt. That's all it takes to send him rushing over, Tim hot on his heels.

Everything about him will probably be slightly different from what she remembers. He's taller, for a start, and older in every way. More weathered. His hair's parted on the left now, and the last two months of constant hunger have stripped the last vestiges of baby fat from his face. Even Timcanpy's a full circle larger than what she's used to.]

[ It really is him.

Maybe a tad different from how she remembers him, older and more mature - was it an effect of having stayed at the Asian branch? - but it's still him. Allen. Almost at once, the breath Lenalee didn't think she was holding leaves her and relief just floods her system upon seeing him.

She stands up to run to him, hugging him. ]

You're all right! You're really all right!

[Kanda was out making sure - again, for Alma - that there weren't any Noah left for sure. He pauses when he sees someone sitting on the steps of the church. He knows that uniform, too. But...]

...Lenalee?

[ That voice--

She lifts her gaze from her lap, from her hands, to stare at the person who just called her name. It can't be - wasn't he supposed to be searching for General Tiedoll?

Lenalee attempts to stand and walk over, stumbling over the last few steps. ]

Kanda?

[Actually rushing over to catch her before she can fall.]

What the hell happened?

Thanks, Kanda. It's really good to see you again.

[ Lenalee laughs uneasily as she pushes herself off of Kanda's arms to stand by herself. It's as if relief, along with pain and exhaustion, finally drops on her like a heavy blanket. ]

I was in the middle of a fight actually so I really shouldn't be here -- [ She looks around again as if expecting Lavi and the others to appear before she looks back at Kanda. ] -- what are you doing here though?
