He'd sensed something strange for a while now, ever since that body had appeared in his room. Something was wrong, and Riku couldn't put his finger on it. It was driving him insane, really. Making him on edge, jittery, and he knew if he met anyone in the halls or spoke to anyone over the PDA, he'd end up snapping at them. Which was why he'd steered clear of all that recently, why he'd holed himself up in a room with a dead body - covered respectfully by the sheet from his bed - until he heard the ruckus die down from the other rooms. Only then did he push himself to his feet and take up the blanket-wrapped bundle. Sure, it had started to smell, but it was nothing compared to the overwhelming stench of Darkness. The stench that had done nothing but grow as the night wore on, as day broke
( ... )
It was in a group of three that they came. When they spotted Riku - without actually spotting him - their destination was set. Although they were slow (they were the undead after all), they made their way toward him.
Sorry Riku, but now that they had their sights on you, they weren't going to let you go.
Kanda didn't know what the fuck was going on. He had simply been exploring the city for anything useful - food, winter materials, anything really - when he first saw them. He ducked between two buildings immediately. He peeked out, and watched as a group of zombies passed by down the street.
Kanda's immediate thought was that these were not zombies, but Akuma sent by the Earl. Yet, these did not feel like Akuma at all. While there was bloodlust, it wasn't... It was just different, compared to what he felt while fighting against Akuma. Dammit, he wished Marie was here to confirm his suspicions.
Too many living. The lack of respect these beings had for his city.
Teutorix had shifted to a tangible form as he slipped behind some long haired girl. Though, on further inspection, he noted it was a male. Even better.
The disfigured man stood behind Kanda, his "breathing" gravely and strained. No need to breathe, just a habit.
Kanda's eyes widened before he immediately stepped out of the alley and spun around, Mugen withdrawn and pointed at the culprit. He stopped, briefly, when he saw exactly who - or more accurately, what - it was behind him. It... looked like one of the zombies, but at the same time didn't. Hell, it didn't even give off the same kind of energy either.
A sword? So boring. Where was this boy from... The dark ages? Teutorix's good eye rolled in it's socket to get a better look at the living in front of him. Such language.
"..Get... Out... My city..." His voice was just as gravely as his breathing, shreds of skin on his cheek flapping as he spoke.
Sora was lying back on his bed, staring up at the peeling ceiling. There wasn't much else to do in this place, especially since it'd been getting colder lately.
Then he heard something. Something moving outside. He scrambled onto his knees, peering out the window and his eyes widened. His heart stopped in his chest, the blood draining from his face. First ghosts and now...he didn't know what to call them.
The sane thing to do would be just to stay inside and wait it out. But where's the fun in that? He grabbed his keychains from the windowsill and bolted out the door, almost forgetting to slam it shut behind him.
He threw up his hood before he reached the exit, slowly opening the door and peering around.
Sorry this is late >:niteo_npcNovember 5 2010, 02:36:08 UTC
By the time that Sora had made his way outside, zombies had already begun to approach the apartment building. Just like that had with their previous victims, they advanced inward slowly toward their new target once they had laid eyes on it.
They weren't going to stop there, either. They were hungry, after all.

"What are they?!" Sora's eyes widened for a moment but he threw out his hand, summoning his Keyblade and shifting, rubble grinding against rubble under his feet. He couldn't let them get inside, not everyone could fight, right?
He ran forward, tossing his Keyblade at the nearest one, catching it as it swung back around. They definitely weren't Heartless. Did he still have his magic? One way to find out.
He held his Keyblade in front of him, "Fire!" A small crimson ball appeared at the tip, shooting into the middle of the crowd. Sora moved to the side, making sure they were focused on him before running. There were too many to fight here. He had to lead them away.
Even though they were on fire, they kept moving. Kept following Sora as he ran; they weren't going to lose him, now that they had found one. Master wouldn't allow it.
You could try all the magic you wanted, Sora. They weren't going down so easily. No when there was just...so much hate.
"......Fuck," Nathan let out, looking at the swarming mass of zombies that were all over the streets. "Seriously?"
Looking out the window by peeping over the windowsill, he wondered if it would be a good idea to get the hell out of dodge and find some place that wasn't riddles with vulnerabilities. Really, this place was not a good place to be during a zombie attack. He had yet to deal with zombies yet back home, but hey. It could happen.
A small mob of zombies just kept walking. They wandered the city aimlessly, hunting for their next prey. But as long as they were in hiding, there wasn't anything to seek out. Even if you screamed, they wouldn't hear you. They had to see.
They saw him. They groaned, and started slowly toward Nathan, aiming to surround him. Their goal was obvious by the way they fanned out. Even if you hit them, they would still come.
Yuuta was quietly walking along one of the streets from the library to his apartment when he heard moaning. His mind instantly went to one of the many horror movies he had a habit of watching during October (thank you, American influence), but he shook it off. There was no way.
But then he saw movement. Slow, methodical movement heading towards him.
"Shit!" he yelled, running in a direction from the apartments. He didn't want to lead them to anyone else who happened to be there; that would cause unnecessary bloodshed and everything else.
Dropping the books, and figuring he could find them again later, he tried to spot something in the debris as he jumped over piles and ducked under things. There had to be something he could use!
Slow they may be, they still chased. They were determined to catch this prey. It made the meal just that much sweeter that he was defenseless, it seemed.

Well, Nathan only considered one possibility: finding whatever heavy, blunt object he could find and start smacking some undead heads in.
So, heading outside, armed with something like a two-by-four (but larger and thicker), he grinned.
"HEY. DEAD DUDES."
After all, what could happen?

Sorry kid, but now that you've been sighted, they weren't going to stop until they were either killed or killed you.
