Characters: OU! Uchiha Mikoto OPEN When: Oct. 12 Where: Graveyard Rating: T for gore Summary: Mikoto has just arrived and is bleeding to death in the graveyard.
Sasuke rushed toward the graveyard as soon as he saw the video. He didn't want to question it, didn't want to know if it really was his mother or not, didn't want to know why Libitina brought her here...
He just had to get there and make sure that nothing else happened to her. He had to protect her. He couldn't lose her again.
Sakura had thrown everything she had thought she would need in a large bag. The woman she has seen on the video was losing blood fast, and with the amount... well Sakura just hoped she could get there in time to stop it.
It wasn't until she was a few yards from the graveyard that she felt another presence and stopped in her tracks.
As soon as he had reached his mother, he pulled off his cloak and ripped off the bottom of the hem. He applied pressure to the wound as best as he could before starting to wrap her abdomen with the torn cloth. He didn't even notice Sakura approach, at least not yet anyway.
Sakura saw Sasuke in his attempt to save the woman bated in blood and something in her knew that she mattered to him.
Without hesitation, without so much as a second thought as to whether Sasuke would hurt her or hate her, she ran and fell to her knees on the other side of the woman's body. Her hands darted out to the cloth of the cloak and pulled it higher on the torso, just under the bust and tightened it there. Sakura's hands grabbed the fabric around the wound and pulled it apart farther, ripping the shirt so she could see the damage.
A clean slice through most of her back, most likely done with a katana. She grabbed a large gauze from her bag and tossed it over toward Sasuke, her hands enveloping in green as she began to heal.
"Apply pressure to the middle. Try and use the gauze and hold the skin close together." Her voice was soft, but authoritative and calm.
Sasuke couldn't help but jump when he saw Sakura kneel down in front of him, on the other side of his mother. He stared helplessly as Sakura took over from him. He snapped out of his daze when Sakura tossed him the gauze and did as told, not caring how soiled with blood his clothes or hands got. As long as his mother made it out alive, that was all that mattered.
Sakura bit her lip as the gauze in Sasuke's hand soaked up blood to the point of being useless too quickly. This wasn't good. This wound had been meant to be fatal, and if she couldn't find a way to slow the bleeding, and fast, it would be.
She freed one of her hands from the healing and grabbed her side bag, tossing it aside to Sasuke, in case they would need anything in it. But right now she had a better idea.
Her eyes flicked up to his, still healing but taking a moment to talk, "Sasuke-kun, can you use fire chakra to cauterize the wound? Do you have a piece of metal... something to make hot then press to the wound?" Right now it took all her energy just to keep the wound from getting bigger or bleeding more. If Sasuke could cauterize the places she had managed to fix, she had a shot of saving this woman's life.
Sasuke just...stared at Sakura for a moment after setting her bag aside. As he sat back, his hand shook just slightly, but not enough to be noticed. Just seeing his mother again, and with the injury that Itachi had given to her on that night...it brought all the memories rushing back.
With a tap on the wrist, he pulled a kunai out from the seal on his wrist. He then turned to do a katon jutsu on it. Once that was done, he reached over to peel the bloody gauze from his mother's back before gently placing the heated edge against the wound.
As Sasuke pressed the heated metal to the wound, Sakura couldn't help but wrinkle her nose. The smell of burning flesh was always something she hated. Her hands followed after his, healing after he used the kunai to cauterize. Her plan seemed to be working, the blood was stopping and the wound was closing now. It would leave one hell of a nasty scar but at least she would be alive. Once she had finished with the length of the wound, Sakura grabbed whatever bandages she could from her bag and started to wrap the it. It would just be temporary, she would wrap it better once they were in a more stable place
( ... )
Sasuke glances up at her, and considered Sakura's condition critically - which, really, was the first time he had ever done so since she had arrived. She was hardly in any condition to be carrying a wounded woman, unless she had soldier pills on her...
"If you have a soldier pill on you, eat it. If you don't, then I'm carrying her." He'd calmed down a little, now that his mother wasn't bleeding everywhere. That much was obvious the most in his voice.
"I'm fine, and it will take two of us to mover her safely. Let me see if I can find something-" She gets up and scans the graveyard for something flat. A tombstone would work, but defacing the dead hardly seems a good idea. She approaches a dead tree and rips off a huge piece of it's bark. This should work.
"Here, if we lift her and secure her to this, it will be safer to transport. But where to, Sasuke?" She sets to work securing, waiting for his answer.
"My room." It was said almost immediately; he knew that Itachi wouldn't want to do anything with this. Itachi would stay as far away as he could, and fortunately for him, his room was the furthest away this time. Sasuke's was closest.
Sasuke glanced down at his comatose mother for a moment before grabbing the bark and carefully getting to his feet. There wasn't any more time to waste.
As she traveled, Sakura made sure to keep her hand on the womans pulse in one of her wrists. Anything unusual and she would make Sasuke stop to check. But as it went, as long as they were careful the woman stayed stable.
When they arrived at his room, Sakura pulled back the covers on his bed and motioned to set her down there.
Sakura gets to work on undoing the woman from the plank or wood. She speaks to Sasuke without looking, too intent on her work.
"I'll need a bowl of warm water, clean rags, and my bag with medical supplies. I'll clean the wound thoroughly, take the bandages off and then stitch it closed."
He just had to get there and make sure that nothing else happened to her. He had to protect her. He couldn't lose her again.

"Keep her level. Once we get to your room, I will stitch her up and bandage everything properly."
